For more than two decades, I have been passionate about showing travelers the magic of the Galapagos Islands. Through our first vessel, Monserrat, I’ve had the privilege of welcoming guests from all over the world and witnessing their awe as they experienced this one-of-a-kind destination. Monserrat has been more than a cruise — it has been my school. Through years of operations, I learned what makes a journey unforgettable, what comforts travelers value most, and where the true potential of luxury in the Galapagos still remained untapped.
That vision led to Hermes — our new multi-hull superyacht — and today, she is finally real.
A Superyacht Designed from Scratch
My wife and I were personally involved the interior design, aiming for a balance of contemporary luxury and warm, handcrafted details. We incorporated original Ecuadorian craftsmanship — such as the handmade oak wood paneling that lines the walls of every suite, a process that took several months to complete. In the final stages of construction, I even lived onboard to make sure the experience felt exactly right — refined, relaxing, and genuinely personal.
All-Suite Living at Sea
Hermes is an all-suite superyacht, where every guest enjoys their own private sanctuary. Each suite features:
– A private balcony for in-room dining and sunset views
– An ocean-facing jacuzzi for quiet relaxation after an excursion
– Spacious walk-in closets in our Owner and King/Twin suites
– Electronic door locks for added comfort and peace of mind
– Motorized blackout curtains
– Smart privacy film in the bathroom windows
– IP phone system for seamless service onboard
– In the Owner Suite, guests will find not one but two private jacuzzis, along with generous indoor and outdoor living spaces.
This is luxury redefined for the Galapagos — thoughtful, elegant, and entirely your own.
Butler Service That Sets a New Standard

Hermes introduces a level of personalized service rarely seen in expedition cruising. Our butlers are responsible for curating each guest’s onboard experience — from restocking your minibar with your preferred selections, to setting up your jacuzzi with sparkling wine and curated bath salts.
Guests may also request unpacking service, and enjoy in-room dining for breakfast on their private balconies — all delivered with the grace and attention to detail that defines true hospitality.
Travel Expectations Are Evolving — Hermes Was Built for What Comes Next

In creating Hermes, I wasn’t only responding to a personal vision. I was responding to a generational shift in luxury travel.
Today’s discerning travelers — many in their 40s, 50s, and 60s — want more than amenities. They want experiences that feel designed for them. They value well-being, authenticity, intimacy, and personal space. After a morning of hiking or snorkeling, they may want a massage in the spa, a quiet moment in our library, or a workout in our gym. They want to explore the Galapagos in comfort — not excess, but elegance.
The age of impersonal luxury is ending. Hermes represents the beginning of something more intentional.
An Invitation to Rediscover the Galapagos
Hermes is the realization of a dream — not just mine, but one shared by a new kind of traveler who believes that comfort, beauty, and discovery can go hand in hand. She isn’t just the most luxurious Galapagos catamaran on the water — she’s an invitation to experience these extraordinary islands in a way that’s never been possible before.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect blend of exploration and indulgence, of intimacy and elegance, welcome aboard.
Hermes is ready!
