The Cerro Rico is the reason for Potosí’s historical importance since it was the major supply of silver for the Spanish Crown. During our tour, we will be visiting the cloister of San Francisco, the cathedral, the royal mint, and the city’s main attraction; the mine. Potosi’s beautiful buildings and ornate colonial villas remind us that it was once the most affluent city in South America for its silver trade.
